WCJJO Tournament and Event Rules

The World Council of Ju-Jitsu Organisations is here to support the development, promotion, and teaching of Ju-Jitsu throughout the world without bias to race, creed, gender, or religon.

The WCJJO provides a world forum for all member countries to meet and participate in Ju-Jitsu competition in a spirit of friendship.

As an organization we promote the sharing of knowledge and skills between member countries.

We also provide a grading authority and recognition for achievement in Ju-Jitsu.

Ultimately we choose to represent Ju-Jitsu and in particular Sport Ju-Jitsu, as a World Body.

The World Council is represented by a Board of Directors.  The board is comprised of a President, Vice President, and Treasurer.  These are elected or appointed positions.

Each member country shall nominate one person who meets the criteria for nomination, to represent their country on the Board of Directors.

The World Council is independently responsible for determining the host country for the annual World Convention Championships.  The Council also defines the rules and regulations enforced during competition.

USA Alliance - Jujitsu and the Upcoming WCJJO World Championships

U.S. Sport Ju-jitsu and Grappling World Team selection process announced for Jujitsu and Grappling World Championship in Belfast, October 10-13, 2013

By Brian Walsh  USA Head Coach

WCJJO, is finalizing its plans for the 2013 Grappling and Sport Ju-jitsu World Championships, which will be held in the city of Belfast, Ireland

USA Ju-jitsu Alliance, USAKF, USJJF will not be hosting a Grappling, Sport Ju-Jitsu World Team Trials for this event. This is due to several factors.

The USA will field teams in Sport Ju-Jitsu  and Gi Grappling. We ask for those interested in competing for the U.S. team to immediately send in an application for a team position. We are asking you to send your interest in competing, as well as your top Grappling, Sport Ju-jitsu results. You must also indicate which style you wish to compete, as well as which weight class you wish to enter. (It is OK to apply for a spot on both teams, but you will need to give both ju-jitsu and Gi grappling results).

The U.S. team will be selected by a committee based upon the criteria listed below:

1. World Champion in that style
2. World medalist in that style
3. U.S team member at past Championships in that style
4. Results from past  World Team Trials in that style
5. Other major competition results in that style

This is a self-funded trip. All costs for participating in the World Championships must be paid by the participating athlete. USA Team will attempt to secure an equipment package for team members.

In order to participate, athletes must be able to pay the cost of the trip in advance. If the athlete does not yet have the funds, the team spot will go to the athlete who is able to pay.

Again, please immediately contact us with information if you would like to be considered for a position on the 2013 U.S. Team competing in Belfast, Ireland.
